Hello wonderful lovely people who have come to
learn how to do hair. Today we’re going to be doing the waterfall braid. It’s
really fun textured boho look. It’s sort of a fun
way to start off with your braid and then it starts to become braid and waterfall and
texture and lovely. It is just gorgeous. It is one that you’ll want when you’re
thinking hmmm, I want to do my hair today and I want it to be nice but I don’t want it to be normal.
Do a waterfall braid. So let’s get started. To begin our waterfall braid, what
we’re going to be doing is we’re going to start off with a Dutch braid. So we’re
going to bring it from our part. We’re going to bring it from our part here and
we’re going to bring it around to where our ear ends here. Just like the mermaid
braid. So we have brought our braid around to where our ear meets our hair. So that’s awesome. Good job. Now it gets to the tricky part.
So make sure you’re paying close attention. So what we’re going to be doing is taking a section of
hair near the top of your head. And we’re going to be adding it to the top section
of the braid here. Now that’s it. No one else gets any new hair. Only the top section of hair gets
a new piece of hair each braid. So our top section of hair has a new
piece of hair. And we’re going to be going to our bottom section. Now what creates a
waterfall is that we take half the section of the bottom hair and we’re
going to leave it out. So this is staying out. It’s a braid no more. It is now a waterfall. So to do that one
again we’re going to braid in a new section of hair. And then we’re going to
be taking a section of hair and adding it to the top section of the braid. We’re going to be halving our
bottom section of the braid. Leaving that out. And then
we’re going to braid in our new section of hair. So we’re adding a section of new hair to the
top section of the braid. and we’re going to half the bottom
section of the braid, leaving that out. and then we’re braiding in our new
section of the braid. Now I’m going to do this around to the other side of my head here so I can pin it away later. Once you’re happy with the length of your waterfall
braid, just continue your braid like this one here because we’re going to be
using that plait to secure the waterfall braid. So now that you’ve finished your
braid, you can see what it means by a waterfall because it comes out like this. I’m going
to texturize my braid as I do with all of my braids. What can you do? Don’t hate on me.
I love the texturised braid. So to secure our waterfall braid
we’re going to be taking our crocodile clip. and we’re going to clip that section
away so it’s held tight together. Now we’re going to be going to this side of
our hair and we’re going to be taking this section of hair. This triangular
section of hair and we’re going to be taking another crocodile clip and we’re just
going to clip it away to the top here. It’s a very good look. I mean you can
keep it like this but i mean its totally up to you. So with our braid here we’re
bringing it across the back. We’ve removed our crocodile clip and
i’m going to finish my braid here. So I’m taking my bobby pin, and i’m popping it into the base of the braid and
I’m pushing it up into the braid and then we’re going to take a second
bobby pin and we’re going to pop it up into the base of the braid as well. Pushing it up into the braid. Good job! Now unfortunately this little
piece is going to have to come down now. I know how much you all enjoyed it. So give it a quick little comb through with your fingers. And we’re going to take this section of
hair, and we’re going to bring it across. And we’re just going to drape it over here where the
braid and the new section of hair meet. Just so it can cover up where the bobby pins
are and any sort of messy texturized plait that you might want to cover up if you’re
not too happy with it. So we’re just going to cover that bit up there. We’re going to put our bobby pin into the
base of that selection here and we’re going to push it up through the braid so it’s nice and secure. We’re going to take our second bobby pin and we’re going to do the same thing. So there you have it. That is our gorgeous boho waterfall braid. It’s nice and lovely and textured
and big around the front here. And then as we
come around the back, it becomes really relaxed and just
gorgeous. It just flows from the braid all the way down to the other hair. Its really fun and just really different
and then you bring it around to the side here where it’s nice and secure. So it makes for a really fun different kind of braid which I really enjoy. Another way
you can finish off your braid is adding in some curls to the bottom.
Or you can curl your hair first. But it’s really fun and it’s just gorgeous and you can wear it days
on end because I feel the grungier it gets just the more textured and awesome it is.
So just definitely wear it like crazy and everybody will be like wow look at your
hairstyle. It’s so cool and you’ll be like I know right, it’s totally awesome! That will happen.
Trust me, I have experienced it. So it’s like guaranteed. So good job everybody!
Go ahead and braid crazy.
