Here’s the sleeve we’ve working on and here’s
my ribbing, here are my stripes, and I’ve been increasing as the pattern calls for every
four rows. I’m now going to show you how to increase while keeping the stripe pattern
intact. So I’ve now finished a white stripe sequence and I’ve been carrying my yarn along
up the sides. So now I’m going to take my green and I’m going to begin increasing. The
first stitch is going to be knit. Then, what you do for the increase is you knit into the
front and then you twist around and you go into the back of the stitch. Then, you knit
to the very end because it’s a sleeve the increases have to be symmetrical. If this
were the front either the left front or the right front, you would only need to do it
on one side. So, you knit across to the end of your sleeve and you’ll make the same increase
knitting into the front and back. One stitch in from the end. All right so here we are,
I’ve got one stitch left. I’m going to into the front of the stitch like a normal knit
stitch and then I’m going to go into the back of the stitch and that makes an increase stitch.
Finish the row and now I’ve just increased on both sides of the sleeve.
