Yes, you can insert an image directly into
a discussion forum thread, or anywhere that you see the visual editor tool, you have this
capability. Here we are on the Create Thread screen in Blackboard, with the visual editor
tool open. Notice that there are three rows of buttons here, and you’ll need all three
rows of buttons expanded in order to insert your image. So, if you’re only seeing one
row of buttons, click the chevron button over on the right to Show More rows of buttons.
Then you will see all of them. Okay to insert an image into your posting, you’ll need to
locate the insert image button, which is this button on the third row with this framed picture
icon. Click on that once. Then you’ll be asked to navigate to the location of the image.
In most cases, the image that you’re adding will be on your local machine, so you’ll click
the Browse My Computer button. Then navigate to the location of the image that you wish
to insert. Select the image and click the “Open” button. You can give your image a description
and a title and click the Insert button. If you need to resize the image, you can do so
by selecting it, and using the squares that appear along the edges of the image to resize
it as desired. Once you’re done editing the image, and adding any text that you wish to
add to the thread, in this case, then you click the “Submit” button. You’ll see that
the image has been inserted into the content of the discussion thread, in this case. That
is how to insert an image using the Blackboard visual editor tool.
