Hello, everybody! You are watching the Golden Hands Channel, Handmade Gifts. Today I’ll show you how to paint tubes in white. I made tubes of writing paper (Its colour is white-grey). I’ll try 4 recipes of painting and I’ll share my conclusions The first recipe of painting is using white tinting paint We will need water, white tinting paint. And you can add gloss enamel paint, but it is not necessary And water-based acrylic lacquer, of course. It fixes white tinting pigment on the surface of the tubes. You will find all the recipes on the screen. white tinting paint – 60 ml; water – 500 ml; acrylic lacquer – 60 ml; gloss enamel paint – 15-30 ml 1 tablespoon – 15 ml Note: gloss enamel paints’ shades differ! I mix all the components that you saw on the screen in a plastic bottle. I mix 4 tablespoons of white tinting paint, 1 tablespoon of gloss enamel paint and 4 tablespoons of water-based acrylic lacquer in 500 ml of water Mix acrylic lacquer with white tinting paint in the ratio 1:1 There are three variants of painting the tubes. The first variant you see now. I use a container to dip tubes, then shake off the excess water. I like this way of painting because in a short time you can paint a large number of tubes. The second way is using a brush In the third variant you can use a plastic bottle. But it’s not convenient. Let the tubes dry (for 2 hours), then proceed to the second colouring. I like this recipe the most. Only after complete drying you can treat the tubes with acrylic impregnation for wood. The second recipe of painting. There is such a misconception that tubes can be painted in white with wood impregnation. But the tubes are not stained well wood impregnation – 120 ml, water – 200 ml, gloss enamel paint – 15 ml (they’re not white, but a kind of grey) by this method of painting. And the tubes get stuck together… The third recipe of painting. Use water and enamel for radiators. enamel paint – 30 ml, water – 200 ml, gloss enamel paint – 15 ml I won’t show you this method of painting in details. But you can see the second method of painting – using a brush: You can dry the tubes by hair dryer. I like to use it. The fourth recipe of painting is using enamel paint and primer (paint). Take 100 ml of water, 100 ml of primer & undercoat (water-based) 2 tbsp of enamel paint, 2 tbsp of acrylic lacquer. primer&undercoat – 100 ml, water – 100 ml, enamel paint – 30 ml, acrylic lacquer – 30 ml, gloss enamel paint – 15 ml Summarizing the coloring results: Let’s compare the colour of the tubes and decide which recipe is better. I lay out the tubes in bunches and in the order I painted them. The bunch which will be lower is painted once Upper bunch is painted twice. The first and the fourth recipe of painting – the tubes are white. The 2nd and the 3rd recipe – the tubes are a kind of grey (watch the weaving test at 12:00 min) So, I don’t recommend to use the 2nd and the 3rd recipes. Note: all the ingredients I used are water-solvable.
